Prof. Zhang Hengshan from the Law School published an academic paper the Function of Rights in the latest issue of Chinese Journal of Law (No. 5, 2020).Chinese Journal of Law, published by the Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, is one of China’s three authoritative academic periodicals in the field of law.
Professor Zhang Hengshan is a member of the Fifth and Sixth Discipline evaluation group of Law within the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, an expert who receives special government allowances from the State Council, an executive director of the Sixth and Seventh Council of the Chinese Law Society, a special consultant of the Supreme People's Court , Member of the Expert Advisory Committee of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, Vice President of Beijing Law Society, Vice President of China Comparative Law Society, Vice President of Legislative Behavior Research Society of China Behavior Law Society, and Executive Director of China Trial Theory and Practice Research Society.
His research direction is jurisprudence, political science, constitutional science, and principles of civil and commercial law. He has published 2 monographs,more than 110 academic papers in national and provincial journals such as Social Sciences in China, Chinese Journal of Law, Chinese Legal Science, and Peking University Law Journal and co-authored 13 books. He has presided over 2 National Social Science Fund projects and 6 provincial and ministerial projects. He has won the first, second, and third prizes of the National Law Textbook and Scientific Research Achievement Award. His monograph "The Principles of Law" won the 2009 National University Press Law Textbook Bestseller Award.In March 2019, Professor Zhang Hengshan officially joined Tianjin University Law School and was employed as an outstanding professor of Tianjin University.
