In the current society of the state legalization, the number of legal distresses and disputes faced by teachers and students increased rapidly. With the aim of building the humanity environment and harmonious campus, providing better service to teachers and students, TJU Law School cooperated with the Tianjin Justice Bureau to build TJU Legal Aid Center in March 2008, which is led by Professor Liu Xiaochun. For each semester, on every Friday, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM in the 7th Building, Room 118, free legal consultation services are provided by law faculty and graduate students to all teachers and students, and it was gradually combined with practical ability training of graduate students, developing to provide better people’s mediation services. Law faculty not only has admirable professional knowledge, but also have strong ability on legal practice.
Over the years, the Legal Aid Center has been annually providing legal consultations for more than 80 customers and holding more than 5 lectures on law popularization on and off campus. These activities have achieved good social benefits and won the praise of the majority of teachers and students. As for the cases collected during the process of giving the advice, the law school will try to summarize the statistics, to find the law, and to extract and purify the system mechanism of solving and preventing the common contradictions and disputes between teachers and students at TJU. This system will play a vital role in the process of constructing harmonious campus.
