Prosecutorial Theory Research Center of Tianjin University

Prosecutorial Theory Research Center of Tianjin University (hereinafter “the Institute”) was established in November of 2017 by both the Supreme People's Procuratorate Institute of Prosecutors and Tianjin University. The Institute is to embody the spirit of the 19th National Congress, to promote two-way exchanges of prosecutors and law schools, to deepen the procuratorial theory Research and strengthen the building of procuratorial think tank. The center combines various business units of Supreme People's Procuratorate and regional prosecutors authorities such as authorities from Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei to research on prosecution theory, prosecutorial policies and prosecution business collaboratively, to make personnel exchanges and exchange of personnel, to promote procuratorial theory, system and work innovation, to provide decision-making advisory services for prosecutorial reform, and strive to build a first-rate prosecutorial think tank with a big influence and visibility, to further promote the combination of intellectual resources and judicial practice in colleges and universities to promote the integration of production, research and education and to provide an important Theoretical support.

The center is headed by Professor Huang Taiyun, former deputy director of the office of the former Central Judicial System Reform Institute and director of the Politics and Law Institute of the Central Political Consultative Committee. Professor Dai Changlin, a member of the Supreme People's Court Judicial Committee and a senior judge, serves as the deputy director. The center currently has 10 researchers with practical experience both in legislation and judicature, as well as theoreticians who have been engaged in the research of relevant disciplines in the field of prosecution. Many of them also have overseas study experience. All these factors contribute to the  smooth development of the Institute.
