World Case and Decision Research Center of Tianjin University (hereinafter “the Center”), founded by law school of Tianjin University, is a study institution for open cases where elite research team from practical, theoretical and decision-making departments gather. The Center aims to achieve the case Research, policy research and decision analysis of the Trinity functional goals with the starting point of study on world case.
The Center focuses on the case collection and compilation, typical cases analysis, academic exchanges and policy research as other work. The basic work of the Center is to classify and organize the huge number of cases collected, to organize experts and scholars to systematically study the representative cases, and to summarize the views and development trends of judicial practice. In addition, the research center will hold regular case salons to provide a venue for dialogue and communication between judicial practice and theoretical research. In addition, the Center also strive to public the research topics, to promote the data sharing of case study resources and to proceed the theoretical innovation, judicial application and publicity of guidance cases, and accept legal advice, policy advice and argumentation for legal cases or issue research reports on a specific type of cases, case handling guidelines for the practical sector, law enforcement agencies and the judiciary handling cases, to provide decision-making reference. The Center will strive to become an important scientific research base for academic exchange, personnel training and decision-making research, so that the level of case studies will be in a prominent leading position in the country and become a distinctive center of jurisprudence research. The Center is headed by Professor Sun Youhai who serves as dean of Tianjin University Law School.
